Rabbi Mordechai Katz:
Dean
Rabbi Mordechai Katz received Simcha from United Lubavitcher Yeshiva in Brooklyn, NY and a B.A. in Talmudical Law from the Rabbinical College of America in Morristown, NJ. He served as Director of Community Outreach at Chabad of Rockland in New City, NY and later was an elementary Rebbe at Cheder Menachem in Los Angeles, CA. Subsequently, he returned to university studies and obtained a B.A. in Business Economics at the University of California, Los Angeles. He is a partner at Katz, Khayut & Stroll, LLP, a boutique CPA firm.
Together with his wife Rivky, in 2008 he founded Bais Toras Menachem in response to the pressing need in the Yeshiva world for a small center of learning for students who wish to pursue the rigorous studies leading to rabbinical ordination and concurrently desire to explore various vocational opportunities and develop their artistic talents.
Rabbi Levi Chazan
Maggid Shiur Smicha
Rabbi Levi Chazan, originally from Israel, studied in yeshivas in Lud and Kiryat Gat. During his Rabbinical training, he mentored and taught in the Yeshiva Gedolah of Argentina. He received his rabbinical ordination from Rabbi Yeraslovsky, and was additionally tested by Crown Heights Rabbonim such as R’ Labkowsky and R’ Osdoba. He studied Dayonos in the Los Angeles Kollel where he received ordination by Rabbi Yechezkel Roth. He currently resides in Los Angeles with his wife and children.
Rabbi Aryeh Hoffman
Program Director
Rabbi Aryeh Hoffman received his Smicha from Rabbinical College of America in Morristown, NJ and a BA is Psychology and Judaic studies from Excelsior College. He worked as a Program Director for Chabad of Yardley, PA and Director of Outreach for Yeshivas Menachem Mendel of Monsey and Yeshiva Gedola of London. He then went on to become a Judaic Studies teacher for Darchai Menachem of Brooklyn, NY. Upon Moving to Los Angeles he began working at Cheder Menachem of Los Angeles. Climbing the ladder as a Language Arts, Math, & Science Instructor as well as the Head of Technology, including an innovative library program.
Rabbi Moishe Hildesheim
Maggid Shiur Halacha
Rabbi Moishe Hildesheim was born and raised in the heart of Crown Heights, Brooklyn, the home base of Chabad. He spread his wings to Manchester, England to mentor students who needed additional guidance and thereafter went on to complete his Smicha in Israel. He currently serves the community of Carthay Circle, Los Angeles as a local Chabad emissary involved in organizing events, Shiurim and Shabbos meals for the neighborhood.
Rabbi Yonni Schneck
Maggid Shiur Gemara
Rabbi Yonni Schneck had the zechus to live ten years in Eretz Yisroel learning in the Mir Yeshiva. During that time he was a Shoel uMeishiv for Reb Nissen Kaplan’s shiur. Currently he lives in Los Angeles where he gives shiurim and counseling at the Chabad Rehab Center. He is also the executive director of Hidden Treasures ABA Therapy Services for autistic children. He came to Bais Toras Menachem where there is a wonderful ruach of torah and chassidus to pursue his passion in teaching Torah.
Rabbi Naftali H. Richler:
Mathematics Teacher
Rabbi NNaftali H. grew up in the cold winter in Montreal Canada as a student in the local Lubavitcher Yeshivah. After receiving his Smicha in Tomchei Temmim Lubavitch in New York and getting married to his wife Brocha, he began his teaching career. Rabbi Richler’s first job as a teacher was on Shlichus in Long Beach California, where he taught both High School and 4th Grade. He taught in those positions for the next seventeen years. Rabbi Richler then moved with his family to Los Angeles where he is currently teaching.

Mrs. Leah Hoffman
ELA Teacher
Mrs. Leah Hoffman has been actively involved in the field of education for many years. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in psychology and a Master’s degree in special education. She is a certified Educational Therapist. She has taught in both the regular classroom setting and in a more personalized environment of a resource room, working with students from Pre 1A through post high school level.
In addition to working at Bais Toras Menachem, she also works at Cheder Menachem Los Angeles while maintaining her small private practice. Mrs. Hoffman works closely with her students, helping them improve their skills and strategies while developing a comfort and love for learning. She is eager to teach English writing to the students at BaisToras Menachem; for students taking TTI courses while helping others strengthen their writing skills. In addition to working with Bais Toras Menachem students, Mrs. Hoffman has been assessing our students’ needs, and advising other faculty members on various education related topics. Mrs. Hoffman is pleased to be a member of our faculty and looks forward to enriching our students’ learning experiences.
Rabbi Zalman Friedman
Maggid Shiur Chassidus
Rabbi Zalman Friedman was born and bred on Shlichus, discovered a passion for Chassidus at a young age. In the method he attributes to his uncle, Rabbi Manis Friedman, he believes that Chassidus should be interpreted meaningfully and in a relevant way. Rabbi Friedman has taught Chassidus in Yeshiva, on Shlichus, and in various speaking engagements throughout the years. He now brings his perspective to Bais Toras Menachem, where Bochurim can gain new insight into the deep secrets of the Torah.
Rabbi Baruch Marshak
Host of Morning Chasidus and Shachris
Rabbi Baruch Marshak is originally from Los Angeles. He attended BTM for two years and received his Smicha in 2016. He is happy to help & inspire the Bochurim.
Mendel Botnick
Menahel Gashmi
Rabbi Menachem M. Botnick grew up as an emissary of the Rebbe in Ottawa. He received his smicha in one year at Bais Toras Menachem in 2015 with an accelerated study program. Previously he has had the opportunity to experience Lubavitch seminaries around the world. Such as Ohalei Torah in New York City and Lubavitch Yeshivah of Toronto, On.
When he came to Bais Toras Menachem in 2016, he was greatly inspired what he saw. After graduation, he decided to stay on to help the students with all their physical needs while he starts to settle down in Los Angeles.
His skills include Photo Editing, Budgeting, and Management. He also plays the Drums and Violin.
Moshe Scheiner
TTI self-study Supervisor
Moshe Scheiner is originally from Boulder Colorado. He taught a beginners class on Hebrew and Aramaic grammar in YTO Miami Florida and joined BTM last year. He is passionate about helping students achieve their academic goals and simplified learning.
Menachem Mendel Myhill
Shliach
Mendy Myhill has studied at Mesivta Coral Springs, Oholei Torah NYC and Lubavitch Yeshivah Toronto. He has also served as a Head Counselor in CGI Boston and Montreal. He has come to BTM as a shliach to help guide the bochurim towards a better life.
Yisroel Drihem
Music instructor
Yisroel began playing music when he was just 10 years old when he got his first keyboard from toys R us. His parents tried hiring teachers so he could learn to play, but he was always drawn to playing by ear rather then go through the process of studying notes. Over time he’s figured out how to play songs by just listening to them and identifying the notes.
He enjoys teaching music using the same method he used to learn on his own. He currently writes and produces music at his recording studio and works with other artists, as well as playing music at various events.
Rabbi Yossi Eilfort
MMA instructor
Yossi Eilfort is a proud Jew and an MMA fighter. He practiced Krav Maga for 12 years before stepping into the Octagon and trained under the legendary Thierry Sokoudjou. He hopes to one day become a police chaplain and provide security and safety seminars to religious students. Furthering his goal of encouraging fitness and self-defence in the Orthodox Jewish community.
